In anticipation of the first day of school this week for children in Forsyth County, the Cumming-Forsyth Chamber of Commerce will host a “State of the Schools” luncheon.

The event is set for 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Alliance Academy for Innovation, 1100 Lanier 400 Parkway, Cumming.

"Join us as Forsyth County Board of Education Chair Kristin Morrissey looks back on a year of accomplishments and shares future plans for the community's excellent school system," the chamber said in a luncheon announcement.

An optional tour of the Alliance Academy follows the event. Sponsors include Northside Hospital Forsyth, Beaver Toyota and Georgia Power. Registration is $15. To register: https://bit.ly/2K7ElTL
