The Forsyth County Board of Education has its structure-and meeting schedule in place.
Three incumbent board members re-elected Nov. 8 were sworn in at the Dec. 15 meeting. They are Nancy Roche, who’s beginning her fifth four-year term. Roche has been on the board since 2001 and has twice served as chair, in 2003 and from 2005-2008.
Also sworn in were current chair Darla Light, who’s beginning her third term and Tom Cleveland, who is launching his fourth.
The board also approved changing its 2017 regular meeting dates from Thursday to Tuesday nights. Board member Tom Cleveland said he floated the idea after learning that a great many other Thursday night community meetings posed conflicts. He said all parties he’d talked to were amenable to the change.
