The 2016-17 school calendar has been given final approval by the Forsyth County Board of Education. It appears largely unchanged from the 2015-16 version.

As OK’d Thursday night, the calendar pegs the first day of school at Aug. 4 and the last at May 26. As is the case this year, it includes a weeklong fall break Sept. 26-30. It also gives a week off for Thanksgiving Nov. 21-25 and schedules spring break from April 3-7. Winter break would go from Dec. 21-Jan. 4, which is planned as a professional development day. Students will return Jan. 5.

No inclement weather days are listed.

The board also approved a resolution asking the Forsyth County state delegation to support legislation allowing for the collection of developer impact fees for school capital improvement project in so-called “high growth” counties.
