Alliance Residential has completed the purchase of the former WestRock headquarters at 504 Thrasher St. in Norcross, making way for a new residential community.

Plans include renovating two of the 10 WestRock buildings to house 90 loft-style rental units as well as co-working space for small businesses. The remaining 8 WestRock buildings will be demolished and removed from the 12-acre site to allow construction of a 290-unit residential and co-working development called Broadstone Norcross.

Weather permitting, construction should begin this spring with units opening to the public sometime next year.

Alliance Residential will also build two new four-story buildings with 200 luxury apartment units varying in size from 560 to 1,400-square-feet.

Plans also include a half-acre park and art room for painting, drawing or crafts.
