Shayan Panjwani, a former student at Georgia Tech, pled guilty Wednesday to illegally logging into the college's grading system and increasing his marks in two classes, according to the state Attorney General's Office.

He was sentenced to two years probation and ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.

Panjwani inflated his grades in July 2011. A graduate student noticed the change and reported it to college officials. Panjwani confessed after being confronted.

Georgia Tech spokesman Matt Nagel confirmed Panjwani is no longer a student at the college and declined to comment further.
