The City of Forest Park has upgraded its emergency notification system. The new system, Code Red, is an ultra high-speed telephone communication service for the distribution of important information. This system allows authorities to telephone and/or target areas of the city to send critical communications, from evacuation notices to missing child alerts.

The system is also capable of dialing the entire city within minutes. In an emergency notice situation, the system delivers a pre-recorded message describing the situations to a live person or an answering machine in the affected area, possibly including instructions requiring immediate action on the part of the recipient.

Forest Park residents can receive CODERED emergency messages by signing up at the Forest Park website.
