That precipitation falling from the sky Monday and Tuesday will seem like tropical rainfall, forecasters say.

Expect clouds and periods of rain, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist David Chandley said.

"It's very typical of tropical rain," Chandley said.

The metro Atlanta area is experiencing a 4-inch rainfall deficit that will likely be aided by one or two inches of what Chandley called "beneficial" rain.

Expect overnight lows in the mid- to upper 60s continuing through Monday, when high temperatures will reach only about 80 degrees.

Rain in the area on Tuesday will be scaled back to scattered showers with highs reaching the low- to mid 80s.
