Pilates is great at strengthening your core. It’s also great for kicking off the golf season’s final tournament, apparently.

In what's being billed as the "first ever Pilates class at a PGA Tour event," the Tour Championship announced that Club Pilates will host a class Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. during tournament week at East Lake Golf Club.

The class will be held on the back lawn of the clubhouse overlooking the golf course. It will be taught by Jenn Allen, Club Pilates Master Trainer and Club Pilates Brookhaven Instructor.

"We know many golfers incorporate Pilates into their core training routine,” said Sarah Luna, SVP of Operations at Club Pilates. “This event allows us to introduce even more of the golf community to the benefits of Pilates."

Club Pilates has 10 locations in Georgia. The tournament takes place from Sept. 19 to 23.

More information on the class can be found leading up to the event here.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
