A three-alarm fire strikes the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary Sunday night.

Smoke pours from the upper level of the federal prison in Atlanta after a three-alarm fire broke out Sunday night. No injuries or escapes were reported.

Smoke and fog fill the air as police block off streets near the prison.

The three-alarm fire broke out at around 9 p.m., a spokesman for Atlanta Fire told the AJC.

Officials said all inmates were secured in another area of the prison away from the fire.
