A trampoline park is shut down after a huge fire at the Gwinnett County facility.

About 50 firefighters responded to the incident at Skywalker Trampoline Park about 9:15 p.m. Monday in the 2200 block of Pleasant Hill Road, Gwinnett fire spokesman Justin Wilson said.

The business had just extended its hours from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. for spring break when someone noticed smoke coming from an air bag platform.

A 911 caller reported a trampoline on fire and customers exiting the building, Wilson said.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke pouring out of the front doors and flames  visible from the front of the single-story business, Wilson said.

A woman was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, Wilson said.

Although five employees and 15 customers were inside the business at the time, no other injuries were reported.

Crews used multiple hose lines to extinguish the blaze. Fire sprinklers were activated inside the business, and a fire engine was used to boost pressure to the system, Wilson said.

“Zero visibility and the large layout made firefighting efforts difficult,” Wilson said.

Firefighters got the blaze under control about 10 p.m.

Authorities later learned the fire originated under an air bag platform where electrical components for a blower system were located.

The business had extensive smoke, heat and water damage, but business suites on both side of the trampoline park were not damaged, Wilson said.
