Several downtown streets were blocked during Tuesday’s morning commute as firefighters doused a blaze in an abandoned building near the Five Points MARTA station.

The fire broke out shortly before 8 a.m. in the old Georgia Power building at the corner of Forysth and Alabama streets.

No injuries were reported,

The building, built in 1947, originally housed the Atlanta Constitution.
