A three-alarm fire damaged 24 units at the Constitution Hill Apartments in southeast Atlanta on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.

No injuries were reported.

“Wind made the going very tough for firefighters,” Atlanta fire department spokeswoman Janet Ward said. “They did an amazing job keeping the fire from spreading worse than it did.”

The ruins ranged from total destruction to water damage, she said.

Firefighters rescued one puppy, but another one died, Ward said.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
