Ever wonder what it’s like in a firetruck? How they do their jobs? What the chili tastes like?

OK, we can’t promise chili (if they you give you some, please tell us), but you can now register for the 2018 Smyrna Fire Department citizens academy.

This will be nine weeks of "hands-on experience, life-saving techniques and a behind-the-scenes look" at the department, according to a flyer for the program posted to Facebook on Wednesday.

And it’s all free for Smyrna residents.
