City Schools of Decatur holds the fourth and final Superintendent Search Community Forum Aug. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Central Office/Beacon Municipal Center, 125 Electric Ave.

Brad Draeger, senior associate for the search firm Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates, will lead the forum seeking input on the most desirable characteristics and skills for a new superintendent.

The three previous forums were in early June.

CSD had roughly 75 applicants for the job of replacing Phyllis Edwards, who resigned in March, though she remains on the job until Dec. 31 at the latest. Draeger has said that by mid-August the candidate list will get cut to anywhere from six to 20 finalists for the school board to interview. He anticipates the board will name a new superintendent by September.
