The field at Atlanta's Grady High School Stadium was named Monday the Eddie S. Henderson, Sr. Athletic Field at Grady Stadium. The school board voted to honor Henderson, who was a principal born in Atlanta. He graduated from Morris Brown College in 1972 with a bachelor's in physical education and was the first African American in Georgia to complete the requirements of a certified athletic director. Henderson dedicated more than three decades to public education and public service.
