Federal reserve officer's guns, ammunition stolen from vehicle

Aug 11, 2011

Roswell police are looking for guns, ammunition and the thief who stole the items from a federal reserve officer's vehicle.

The officer told Roswell police Sunday that two firearms, four boxes of ammunition and four magazines had been taken from his vehicle Friday, according to the incident report obtained by Channel 2 Action News. He told authorities that he delayed reporting the theft because he had to work a double shift and could not make it back to Roswell.

He said he noticed the items were missing when he got home after a shooting range session at Sharp Shooters and several other stops.

The security cover on the cargo area in the back of the vehicle had been damaged, the responding police officer observed, and there were two pry marks of the driver's side door lock.

The missing items include a Glock 22 and a PS90 rifle. The guns were personal items, not duty weapons, Channel 2 said.

Anyone with information on the case should contact Roswell police.
