The Fayetteville Police Department officially introduced its newest officer at the Fayetteville City Council meeting on Aug. 17.

K-9 Finn, a 16-month-old German Shepherd, will be partnered with Officer Josh Riviere. Both recently completed a six-week course at the Alabama Canine Law Enforcement Officers Training Center. Finn, who is trained for both tracking and narcotics work, is currently Fayetteville’s only K-9, although the city says it plans to add more.

Officer Riviere and Finn will assist the city’s patrol units and will also be available to other jurisdictions.
