The Fayetteville Police Department reports that a new policy regarding juveniles at the Cinemark Tinseltown Theater is producing desired results. The city implemented a parental escort policy in May that requires anyone under age 17 to be accompanied by a parent or guardian after 8 p.m.

Police officer Ernest Stanley said, “It’s been a great help … [w]e have had no incidents involving teenagers since the policy was in place.”

The measure is part of a larger effort to reduce crime and other complaints at the Fayette Pavilion shopping center.
