Fayette County’s school superintendent is drumming up support for the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or ESPLOST, that will be on the Nov. 7 ballot along with local elections.

Joseph Barrow released a video with his personal pitch, asking voters to renew the existing penny sales tax that supports education programs such as equipment and school renovations. In the video, Barrow emphasizes that the sales tax gleans revenue from out-of-county shoppers, taking some of the school funding burden off residents. However, some voters may have to go to two polling places to cast ballots regarding the ESPLOST and municipal candidates. The video can be seen at http://bit.ly/esplostvideo.
