Several Fayette County schools will have new principals and/or assistant principals following a special called meeting of the Board of Education on May 31.

  • Julie Turner, principal at Kedron Elementary, was named as the county's assistant superintendent of student achievement after Terry Oatts resigned to become superintendent of Rockdale County Public Schools.
  • Dan Lane, principal at Fayette County High, will replace McIntosh High School's retiring principal, Lisa Fine.
  • Yolanda Briggs-Johnson, currently an assistant principal at Whitewater High, will become principal at Fayette County High; joining her there as an assistant principal will be Mark Henderson, the school system's former mathematics coordinator.
  • Brandi Johnson, an assistant principal at Fayette County, will become an assistant principal at Whitewater.
