Fayette County has developed two school calendar options for 2018-19 and 2019-20.

The school system recently convened a committee comprising parents, teachers, students and administrators that considered start and end dates, holidays, exams and testing, professional learning, school maintenance needs and parents’ work schedules. Both options for next year have classes starting on Aug. 6 and ending May 24, but have different semester and winter break lengths and professional learning days, and only one has early release days.

The calendars will be circulated among principals and staff for comments before the Board of Education makes its decision on Oct. 16.
