Fayette County is hosting an open house to solicit public comments regarding plans for four local transportation corridors.

Citizens can stop by any time between 4 and 7 p.m. on July 15 at the Fayette County Library, 1821 Heritage Parkway in Fayetteville. The areas being discussed are Sandy Creek Road, Tyrone Road-Palmetto Road, Banks Road and SR 279. Due to continued growth in the county, officials want input regarding plans to improve safety and reduce congestion while still supporting multiple usages and economic development. Draft concepts and survey forms for each corridor will be posted at www.fayettecountyga.gov/transportation-planning/index.htm, and comment forms can also be filled out at the meeting.

Public Works Director Phil Mallon said, “The more public input we receive, the better job we can do in providing the desired transportation system.”
