Fayette County’s budget for FY2016 was outlined at the Board of Commissioners meeting Thursday. The $50.1 million general fund reflects a $25.9 million fund balance from this year plus $50.5 million in projected revenue, which would leave the county with a $26.2 fund balance at the end of the fiscal year.

No property tax increase is planned, and a millage rollback is expected. County employees would receive a 2 percent cost-of-living raise. City Manager Steve Rapson said the budget reflects “significant improvements in our local economy” and spending plans tied closely to current revenue.
