Classes may be out for the summer, but major construction projects at several Fayette County schools are in full swing.
Mike Satterfield, the system’s director of facilities services, recently updated the Board of Education about additions and renovations in progress, including $12.7 million worth of new roofing and HVAC at Sandy Creek High School and the Starr’s Mill/Rising Starr complex, which will be completed in August.
Huddleston Elementary School is completely blocked off as crews work on a $5.6 million renovation there. Additions and modifications at Spring Hill and Peachtree City elementary schools, totaling $7.4 million, are also due to be finished by August.
