Fayette County schools need more substitute teachers and nurses. The county has put out a call for applicants age 21 and over to fill in when staff members are away. Substitute teachers must have a four-year degree or higher in any subject and are paid $85 per day with a valid teaching certificate and $80 per day without one. Those substituting for paraprofessionals receive $75 per day. Nurses with RN and LPN certifications earn $100 per day.
