The Fayette County Public Arts Committee will have some new dimensions following the Board of Commissioners’ March 10 approval of the group’s restructuring.

The volunteer body was created in 2014 to help fund and initiate more art displays in public spaces. The new ordinance specifies an 11-member committee to be appointed by the board and meet monthly. Elected officials may serve as members but not officers.

Commission Chairman Charles Oddo asked that the committee be charged with developing long-term goals in addition to short-term projects, and finding more non-government sources of funding.
