Interested Fayette County residents have until March 27 to apply for two vacancies on the Recreation Commission.

The five-member volunteer advisory board meets at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Parks and Recreation Activities Building, 980 Redwine Road in Fayetteville. Members serve four-year terms, and the two open seats (currently held by Nancy Holland and Michael Gumbinger) begin on April 1 and expire on March 31, 2024. The board has no decision-making authority, but makes recommendations to the county Recreation Department, the county administrator and the Board of Commissioners regarding programs, facilities, policies and related capital and operational needs.

Applications are available at www.fayettecountyga.gov under Public Notices.
