The Fayette County Public Library has two new activity tables for its children’s area, thanks to a $7,500 grant from the Clothes Less Traveled thrift shop.

The tables, which contain building toys, Legos and Magna-Tiles, help stimulate kids’ imaginations for individual or interactive play. They were installed as part of the library’s summer reading program, and Children’s Librarian Ada Demlow credits the new features with an increase in both program attendance and the number of books being checked out. More library cards have also been issued during 2019. The Children’s Library has programs and resources for children age 13 and under.

The funding came as part of CLT’s semi-annual grant program, made possible by proceeds from its store at 459 Hwy. 74 South in Peachtree City. CLT has distributed more than $7 million in grants since 1997.
