Students in Fayette County will report to school on Aug. 8 in 2016 and on Aug. 7 in 2017.

On Monday the Fayette County Board of Education unanimously approved the calendars for the next two school years, which include weeklong breaks in November, February and April in addition to the two-week semester holiday. Both calendars end classes the Friday before Memorial Day.

More than 75 percent of 536 respondents to a survey regarding two different calendars favored the schedules that were selected.
