As part of an agreement between Fayette County and Peachtree City regarding maintenance of Lake Peachtree, the county’s Board of Commissioners has approved $71,855 for regrouting the lake’s spillway. The county shares the cost of the lake’s upkeep in return for drawing water.

Regarding the current dredging and spillway projects, Commissioner Steve Brown said, “This is rapidly turning into a capital project and not a maintenance item.” He noted that Peachtree City has not yet decided whether or when the spillway must be replaced, but that repairs must be done for the lake to be refilled by late spring.
