Fans might not be able to attend a game between the Warren County and Hancock Central high school football teams this fall, according to a report in the Augusta Chronicle Wednesday.
The two east Georgia teams brawled after their game Oct. 14 last season at Hancock Central, and Warren County head coach David Daniel was severely injured when he was hit by a helmet.
According to the Georgia High School Association website, Warren County’s Screaming Devils and the Hancock Central Bulldogs will play Sept. 28 in Warrenton.
Warren County schools Superintendent Carole Jean Carey told the newspaper that she wanted the game played in a neutral location, and she also wanted a fan-free game, though she said players’ parents and school officials could attend.
Carey didn’t want the player who hit Warren County head coach Daniel to play.
Carey told the newspaper if all stipulations were not met, Warren County would forfeit the game.
