Facebook "Boost Your Business" seminar:

Are you a local business owner in DeKalb County struggling to engage with clients and customers on social media?

If so, you don't want to miss this free workshop in Clarkston next week.

On Friday, July 22, Facebook, along with the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce and Decide DeKalb Development Authority, are teaming up to host a "Boost Your Business" seminar for the public, according to a news release.

Congressman Hank Johnson will kick off the seminar, which intends to teach local small-business owners about "optimiz[ing] their presence" to increase engagement on the social media platform, Facebook.

A Facebook small-business expert will offer best practices and strategies to succeed in the social media realm and there will be a Q&A after the presentation.

You'll also hear some tips and tricks from local small-business people, including some from 3 Girls and a Needle, HUX and Grateful Dead Books, according to the release.

The seminar kicks off at 10 a.m. at Clarkston's community center at 3701 College Ave.
