If you hear “very loud” bangs coming from near North Point mall this week, there’s no need to be alarmed.

A construction crew at 7895 North Point Parkway will be conducting a blast to remove a large boulder around 2 p.m. Monday, the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety warned residents via Facebook.

There will be blasting work at this location on other days this week, as well, according to Alpharetta's Facebook page.

The construction is for a 120-room Aloft Hotel on a 3.6-acre site, according to Assistant City Administrator James Drinkard.

The project is valued at $25 million and is scheduled to open in November 2017, he said.
