A DeKalb County commissioner is hosting a town hall meeting Monday night focused on substance addiction and recovery.

In recognition of National Recovery Month, experts will discuss and answer questions about DeKalb’s “addiction crisis and recovery efforts,” according to a statement from Commissioner Nancy Jester’s office.

The event will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the North DeKalb Senior Center, located at 3393 Malone Dr. in Chamblee.

Jeff Breedlove of the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse will moderate the panel. The panelists include:

  • Robin Elliott, Georgia Overdose Prevention
  • Neil Campbell, Georgia Council on Substance Abuse
  • TaTa-Nisha Frazier, who is in long-term recovery and was featured in the Georgia Recovers Campaign
  • Amy Armstrong, MARR Addiction Treatment Center. 

The free event is open to the public.
