First the new Zaxby's coming to Snellville was hoping to open in August.

Then it was September.

But now, it appears the wait is almost over.

The new 4,200-square-foot fast-food restaurant is slated to open Oct. 17, according to a spokesperson.

Sam Smith, licensee of the new location at 1780 Scenic Highway, said the local community has been supportive.

“Zaxby’s continues to be a perfect fit for growing areas like Snellville,” Smith said in a news release. “We’re always so thrilled to offer residents a great quality product and unbeatable customer service.”

The team is looking for more than 50 members from Snellville “who feel just as passionately about the brand as we do,” according to Smith. Interested candidates can apply on-site.

The first 100 guests at the grand opening will receive a “Fanatic Pack of 52 Free Dealz,” meaning a free item each week for a year.

Fun facts: Zaxby's is headquartered in Athens, and the actor in the recent Zaxby's commercial is a chiropractor from Marietta.
