Three Flippen Elementary School students recently were recognized in Washington, D.C. for their invention of Cool Pads, football shoulder pads that can be used by athletes to keep them from overheating during games. The pint-sized inventors met Pres. Barrack Obama earlier this month as part of their win-worthy work in the 2012 Toshiba/National Science Teachers Assocation ExploraVision Competition. The winners are fourth-grader Evan Jackson, third-grader Alec Jacson and second-grader Caleb Robinson. The Henry County students were the youngest participants in the April 22 White House Science Fair hosted by the president.
