The city of East Point is hosting Downtown Commons Redevelopment community vision sessions to give residents an opportunity meet developers, Bush Construction.

The meetings will take place 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12 at City Annex Auditorium, 3121 Norman Berry Drive and 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14 at the same location.

According to city officials, although there is still much to be done in East Point’s Downtown, great milestones have been made because of the city’s focused commitment to revitalize the Downtown District.

The city has a development staff to facilitate including an economic development specialist that has a focus on the Downtown District, Economic Development Director, Senior Planners, Downtown Architectural Review Board, the East Point Business and Industrial Development Authority.

In addition, the East Point Main Street Association’s (a non-profit) mission statement is the revitalization of the Downtown District. Working together, they all have a role in the success of the Downtown District.

Community members are encouraged to attend and share their vision with the developers for redeveloping the Downtown Commons.
