East Point offering bulk waste collection

Property owners in East Point will be able to put sofas, mattresses and other large items out with their regular garbage collection later this month.

The city’s first ever bulk pick-up amnesty runs from July 26 to 30 as part of the regular sanitation patrol. Most large items will be accepted.

However, the city will not pick up dirt, gasoline, concrete, coals, construction and remodeling debris, oil, tires, rock and sod.

A second amnesty program will be held the last week in October. Both events are designed to encourage residents to properly dispose of waste.

For more information about the program, contact the city’s sanitation division at 404-270-7140.
