East Point looks to gear up for public safety

April 15, 2016The East Point City Council will apply for funding to the U.S. Department of Justice for the Body-Worn Camera Grant during its regular meeting 6:30 p.m. Monday at Jefferson Station Council Chambers, 1526 East Forrest Avenue Suite 400.
In addition to applying for funding under the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Fire Prevention & Safety Grant Program, the council will also consider:
- The purchase of three 2016 Ford F150 Trucks for the city's Code Enforcement Unit for $61,890
- The purchase of seven police detective vehicles for $177,751
- Approval for new LED street lights for Camp Creek Parkway for $41,750.
