The city of East Point will be hosting a 2020 Census Job Information Session 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 in the City Hall Council Chambers, 2757 E Point Street, East Point.
The U.S. Census Bureau is recruiting to fill hundreds of thousands of temporary positions across the country to assist with the 2020 Census count. Census results are used to determine representation in Congress, and they help inform how billions of dollars are distributed for hospitals, schools, roads, and more.
Every 10 years since 1790, the United States has undertaken the momentous task of counting its population.
Temporary positions for the 2020 Census feature flexible hours, but generally last for several weeks. Positions offer competitive wages, weekly paychecks and paid training. Interested applicants will have the opportunity to network with census job recruiters, learn about the hiring process and also apply on-site. Bilingual residents are especially encouraged to apply.
