At two separate meetings, the East Point City Council approved its mayor pro tem for 2017 and a handful of alcohol license requests, respectively.

Councilwoman Sharon Shropshire was approved at its January meeting as mayor pro tem. Councilwoman Nanette Saucier was also approved as the provisional mayor.

At its December meeting, the council voted in favor of a request from East Point Food Mart, 3056 Bayard St., Suite 100 for an alcohol license to sell beer and wine for off premise consumption.

Other city council-approved alcohol license requests include: Courtyard Atlanta Airport West, 3400 Creek Pointe Ave. and Pearl Bar Inc., 2783 Main St.
