Forsyth County elections officials said the first four days of early voting in the July 14 special election runoff for the Georgia House District 24 seat is outpacing the level seen in the runup to the initial June 16 vote.

Elections administrator Barbara Luth said 362 people cast ballots in the first four absentee days, June 29-July 2 at the Forsyth County Administration Building. By contrast, only 190 voted in the inaugural first four days of the June 16 election absentee voting period. She attributed the increase to intense efforts by the candidates to turn out the faithful.

Sheri Gilligan and David Van Sant will square off in the July 14 vote.
