Earlier alcohol service starts in Snellville this Sunday

You can grab a mimosa at your favorite brunch spot an hour earlier in Snellville starting this Sunday.
Snellville passed a referendum allowing earlier Sunday alcohol sales during its March 19 special election. The referendum was made possible by the “brunch bill” that passed the state legislature in 2018. That law allows cities and counties to hold referendums to approve Sunday alcohol sales at restaurants starting at 11:30 a.m., an hour earlier than the previous 12:30 p.m. bar.

The law only applies to restaurants and bars, so residents still have to wait until 12:30 p.m. to get alcoholic beverages from gas stations, grocery stores and other retailers.
The time change only applies to businesses within Snellville’s borders. Some other municipalities and Gwinnett County had previously passed the referendum.
