The city of Dunwoody has settled a lawsuit with a daycare provider. The legal dispute with Discovery Practice Management Inc. was dismissed once a settlement was agreed, allowing the care provider to operate as Center for Discovery on Manget Way for children with eating disorders.

In turn, the daycare provider agreed to maintain a residential appearance, provide care for up to six children at one time and place no signs on the property.

“By negotiating a settlement agreement, the city has removed any opportunity for further legal liability in both Superior Court and Federal Court,” said Dunwoody Mayor Denis Shortal. “Through these negotiations we’ve minimized further permissive impacts upon the neighborhood and significantly limited additional financial exposure for the city and its citizens.”

This ends the dispute that began in August 2014.
