The Dunwoody City Council will discuss the plan for the Gateway project during the meeting at 6 p.m. Monday at Dunwoody City Hall, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 103.
The City Council has entered into a project agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation to receive $200,000 in federal funds for preliminary engineering on the Georgetown Gateway project, which will improve the Chamblee Dunwoody Road corridor between Cotillion Drive and Peeler Road. Improvements include extension of the multi-use path from Georgetown Park to Cotillion Drive, enhanced sidewalks, landscaping and a center turn lane with pedestrian refuge islands.
The council will also discuss a memorandum of understanding among the police departments of Johns Creek, Brookhaven, Sandy Springs and Dunwoody to purchase a command vehicle for $247,659.04 to be used for North Metro SWAT operations. If approved Dunwoody’s police department will be responsible for $41,916.29 of the cost, which will be paid from local asset forfeiture funds by the police department.
