Clean out your garage, shed or pool house and take all your unwanted household waste to Cambridge High School on March 17.

That day, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the city is hosting a free household paint and chemicals collection.

The event is open to only Milton residents and pre-registration is required.

Items accepted include latex paint, oil-based paint, spray paint, gasoline, kerosene, lighters, transmission fluid, brake fluid, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, pool chemicals, cleaning products, fluorescent bulbs, items containing mercury and household batteries.

Paint, gardening chemicals, pool chemicals and household cleaning products must be in original containers. Paint is limited to 10 gallons per person.

Items not accepted include car batteries, motor oil, antifreeze, electronics, explosives, ammunition, firearms and prescription drugs.
