The Duluth City Council recently awarded a contract for asphalt, mill, patch and resurfacing of various city streets. The city received 7 bids for this project, with Baldwin Paving Company coming in as the lowest qualified bid for a total contract in the amount of $1,426,585 (including contingency). The project was bid as a base street bid and base patch bid, with each priced separately to arrive at a total for the work.

A Local Maintenance Improvement Grant (LMIG) provided through the Georgia Department of Transportation that is funded by the motor fuel tax will help fund the project. Additional funding comes from the 2017 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST).
