Duluth's Red Clay Theatre gets new bathrooms

Duluth has installed new bathrooms in the city's beleaguered Red Clay Theatre.

Last week, city workers removed a large porta-potty off to the side of the stage, put in after the city knocked down portions of the building damaged in the 2009 floods. Among the casualties of the razing: the theater's restrooms.

Duluth acquired the building, an old church, for $1.8 million in 2004. Since then, the city has spent thousands to convert and maintain the property, on top of demolition costs.

Plans call for the city to shell out more money to add space for a lobby and concession area.
