The Duluth City Council accepted $218,101 as the city’s share of a Fiscal Year 2017 Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant from the Georgia Department of Transportation. The grant will be used for road resurfacing projects.

As part of the agreement to receive the grant, GDOT requires the city to provide 30 percent matching funds of $65,430, which will come from SPLOST funds. A project list was submitted to GDOT. Approval of this item also allowed the city to amend the budget to add the grant funds to the Transportation/Infrastructure Improvement capital project.
