Over the past several months, the Duluth police department has used eBay to sell various items of confiscated property. The sales have generated over $1,100 in revenue for the city.

Due to the need to safely and securely store digital evidence and dwindling “free space” on the city’ network and servers, the police department would like to use these funds to purchase a Drobo Network Storage Unit. This will allow for the secure storage of large amounts of data and can be easily managed by Duluth’s information technicians.

As a result, the city council agreed on May 9 to authorize the Duluth police department to use the proceeds to purchase the equipment using the funds from seized property.
